Seriously, the house is on Main Street. I passed it a few weeks ago. I think the tree that is no longer there must’ve still been in place, as it was, I didn’t recall anything about the tree or the house.
Looking at the stump? Big tree. The porch itself, an architectural oddity. Looks, from one angle, looks as if the tree grew in place and eventually caused the house’s foundation to shift some. There’s a myriad of stories, I’m sure. Tree was planted, house shifted, tree grew, and a quick estimate would place the tree at close to a hundred years old. Just a guess.
